It has become apparent that the engine oil to engine coolant plate heat exchanger (or oil cooler for short) is susceptible to internal and external failure - if this happens it can quickly cause catastrophic engine failure. tho again this simply tells us where the covers (or cap) came from. 1979 - 1995 (Fox, SN95.0, & 2.3L) -General/Talk-1994 - 1995 Specific Tech. The S550 Mustang, it turns out, has one of those sometimes faults. Does it have any other meaning besides coolant level Coolant levels are fine not leaking or. Of course, maybe they swapped cam covers and that's why the bolts gone from the top pssgr front cover.ĮDIT: whats the oil recc on the cap? MrBurns will probably know but at some point Ford switched oil recommendations. This light keeps coming on and off and now is staying on. that changed by at least 2005, not sure if it was 04 or 05. NOTE: On an older CV motor, at least til 03 I believe, you'd find the oil fill on the drivers side. This leak is difficult to locate as it is buried underneath the intake manifold. Car was purchased new in May from the dealer, so I’m surprised that it came this low from the factory I’ve had. Yesterday I noticed coolant level was below min mark, didn’t even think to check it sooner. It has a Low Coolant Level light on (not sure if it was on prior to heater core change. He replaced the heater core before I picked it up. Picked up a 92 GT Convertible from a reliable buddy of mine. great forum here I appreciate all the great knowledge. There's a different fead but that just required the use of the second idler - which is present. The Ford Mustang GT from 1996-2010 is known for displaying the normal symptoms of a coolant leak, including overheating, especially when the vehicle is idling, the strong smell of coolant from the engine, and illumination of the low engine coolant warning light. Car was built in December 2019, I understand Ford switched coolants around that time. (Edited) 92 GT Coolant sensors - Solved. The tensioner looks like every crown vic tensioner I've seen (with the "rail" cast above the pulley) but not like the older gt pulleys I've seen that don't have them. I say this bc we ran into a similar problem with that tube - and the water pump tube under the manifold - when installing a crown vic motor into GT. Also to note, be sure to check out the lower coolant hose coming off the bottle. You can add distilled water at that level - no need to go hunting down and adding actual coolant. The egr tube is fabbed which might mean that they didn't have the tube from the new motor. Car should be stone cold when adding coolant, that’s the most accurate fill as well as seeing how low it really is based on the content in the bottle. For the next week, check your coolant level frequently (with a cold engine), to be sure that there is no ongoing leak that requires regular. Use a 50/50 coolant-and-water mix, as specified in your owner’s manual. Simply top up your coolant to the Max or Full level when the engine is cold. Missing a bunch of fastners too, pssgr side front cam cover, drv side front alternator bracket. Solution: This is potentially an easy fix.
